Boom Boom Blat

I have made it to week three!
the tide of nagging voices inside my head has begun to subside
I no longer dream in white ear bud stereo with my
thumb subconsciously in a holding pattern over the click wheel
No more poking my thigh when I want to hear something new
I have saved hours not having to untangle wires while crossing the street, barely escaping death
My iPod broke, little i big P and now I am free, but itching for melody

Transmission 2030 part 1

Its the year 2030. My slowly aging body is slowed down by the suit i wear. Space is cold, but the natural resources of Mars help keep Earth running. Being a space miner isn't the best job, the endless hours take a toll on the mind. Jack, the mining droid thats in charge of our drilling unit is constanly pushing us to drill father and harder and every time he speaks, his voice echos through our brain, causing pain to shoot through our eyes. I would never think that droids would be running the human race, but thats what we get for advancement in technology. The wild winds on Mars causes the process of mining to go much slower and the constant yelling of Jack makes work much harder. Security Droids guard our work site from alien species and though we haven't seen one, stories from other units makes us glad we havnt seen them yet. Arcauim is the resource we are looking for. It runs our power and nuclear plants. Gasoline is no more. We now run on hydrogen and Earth has changed ever since the 2008 elections. Price of gas rose up to 5 dollars a gallon and then in 2013, scientist discovered Arcaumim. Thats when the age of space began

Memories

This morning Tim reminded me about how music can be so closely tied to memories and emotions. He explained how a Bon Iver song made him sad, because he used to listen to it while going through a rough period in life. Music is a pretty amazing gift.

Stress

Over the past few weeks, the stress has really been pounding me down. I remember one morning i got up and was so stressed out it was to the point to where i had to talk to someone, so i called my mom and dad and told them i was at the end of my rope, cause work was not giving me enough hours and i have so many bills to pay. I got turned down from two jobs and the job market here in Bellingham is rough. Well tuesday i felt like i should look up in Skagway, Alaska and try to get a job up there, so i checked the Skagway chamber of commerce. Sure enough there were like three jobs that looked like i could possibly enjoy doing, so i emailed them my resume. Sure enough, one of the jobs asked me to fill out an application and i did. I faxed it back to them the very same day and now i am just waiting to here from them. It might be that i have to leave as soon as next week. Please keep me in your prayers.

Mornings with Fred

Ok so every morning i woke up when Fred was up has been interesting. Yesterday i put on an artist and he named the album but couldnt name the artist. Then derik who was sitting on the green chair said the artist, but Fred kept trying to name that artist. We were like "fred. derik just said the artist". It was funny. Then this morning, the day being May 14, fred starting rapping with Bob marley on. Then he threw on his homemade music singing about organic ketchup and texas and meeting a girl.

The Sub Is Crazy

Speaking from past experience, the sub is a crazy place to live. First, and most importantly, the combination of regular residents adds a little crazy. The hospitality of those who live there brings in new faces. The sub's connection with the INN causes it to be the host of many-a-small group and more. Good folks live there, good community indeed!

Random Thought

Last night i went to the INN with Tea and a bag of brownies in my pocket. Also i didnt wear shoes. I am now fasting and pray about the job in Alaska

Tim

Phil Wickham

Today we had a classic moment of misunderstanding. Tim flipped on some music in the living room and Fred and I (Derik) were guessing what the artist was. After 20 seconds, I blurted out Phil Wickham. Somehow Fred didn't hear me and kept guessing. "I think the last name starts with a 'w.' Whho,  wiis, waft, wost..." Tim and I finally had to tell Fred that I had already figured it out. It was funny.

I like starting the morning with my friends. It's quiet today, a rarity for the Yellow Submarine.

Today

Well today i woke up around 940 and get ready for church at Mosaic. I decided not to go with shoes again. We drove there and it turns out, all the mothers and daughters were leaving, so it was just the men and boys. We ended up eating breakfast and making paper airplanes for a contest. It was a lot of fun, and my airplane didnt do that well except for the really awesome loopy loop that it did which won me best style. Now i am listening to Fred sing By and By and waiting till two to go play soccer. Happy mothers day

Tim

Mothers

As i look back on my simple life
The hard times with stress and strife
Were easy cause you were there
A blanket of love and care

You cooked, cleaned and looked after me
put a band-aid on my scraped knee
told me stories that were fun
I love you mom, more than a ton

You pretended to call the mothers Hotline
to get a new mother
Me and Zachary cried
we wouldnt want no other

When we had splinters
you got really excited
got out your needle and tweezers
and without pain, you got it

When dad tried to make us take a nap
he had no win
For you gave us snacks and told us stories
and we fell fast asleep

Christmas time came around
you and dad shopped around town
event though finances were low
opening our presents, our faces would glow

If love could me measured in gallons
mom, you would be like the ocean
Though your bad side is sharp like tallons
Your words are soft like lotion

You are the best mom
That i could ever have

Argument

There was just a friendly 10 min argument over whether to get Benjamin Button or a "free" Disney movie tonight.

Jordan has a pizza in the oven

Tim is buying Frostees

Brittney Says: "Derik what are you doing for the 4th of July?"

Zach, Jonathan and Gretchen are playing xbox

I am gassy and about to read a little. I need to brush my teeth.

Tim's Day 5/9/09

Well first off the day started a little slow. Woke up early to help out at the Haggen to Haggen and get a free shirt. Then i just chilled at the house and started this Blog page. Then i decided to bike down to the Saturday market and see whats happening down there and boy was it happening. I got a Mallards ice cream cone, specificaly Mocha ice cream. The best ice cream in the States. Then i biked around Bellingham and ended up stopping at a Maritime Museum and checking that buisness out. Then i came back home and went bouldering with Anni and her roommates and Peter. It was fun. I came back and we all went to Boulevard Park for Anni's Bday party. We hula hooped and threw the frazbee around. I cut my foot and then i danced around with Gretchen, Stead and Jonothan at the Sub. Fun day. I think its time for Frosties

the rule of the dictator

fist slams down on the dark oak desk
papers fall to the floor landing on the awoken dog
the dictator screams at his generals, his beard is long
His hair is slowly graying, wrinkles are forming on his face
His worst enemy is aging, a never ceasing killer
The cigar in his mouth is unlit, smokeless and soaked in the mans saliva
So many people killed, so many hurt by just one man
The only power they have is to let age do its job
But what if someone like him takes his place?
Could they ever have someone for the people and not against them?
Tyranny runs deep in the veins of the dictator

the bellingham market

Tim, Jonathan, and I (Derik) are planning on hitting up the downtown market in a couple of minutes. It should be pretty sweet. All the vendors, fantastic smells, and people makes it a great place to spend a Saturday morning. I'm looking forward to it.
head pounding, heart beating
my brain feels like its trying to escape
pulse is speeding
cuts are bleeding
but the sun is shining
and miners are mining
coal, i pay the toll
